Living Will And Do-Not-Resuscitate (DNR) Arrangements

Perhaps the most difficult but important arrangements for a person to make is a Living Will and Do-Not-Resuscitate (DNR) order. Unfortunately these are the protections that are frequently ignored.

A Living Will details how you want to be cared for if incapacitated or unable to make decisions about your own healthcare. The DNR allows you to choose if you want CPR, mouth-to-mouth efforts, or a breathing machine to keep you alive.

These are very real decisions. And by having a Living Will and DNR order, you are showing compassion for remaining loved ones since they won’t have to make these gut-wrenching decisions during difficult times. It takes children out of the decision-making process and avoids the possibility of nasty arguments because the decision has already been made.

You have made the decision and that is of great comfort to a surviving spouse or children.
